MVCC has installed 20 modems and a T1 internet backbone to bring the Internet to Nashville, Vermontville, and Hastings.
The new service will put us on the World Wide Web with a local Telephone number.

Michnet Modems
MVCC has leased 10 modems from Michnet (Merit) to be used on any Michnet Lines in Michigan (See List on city available).

Additional Modems Installed
Five additional modems have been installed in Hasting to service customer that can not make a local call to Nashville.

Six 33.6k modems have been added to our twenty 28.8k modem, giving us a total of Twnety Six modems at the Nashviile Location.

There are now Thirty two modems (sixteen 28.8k and sixteen 33.6k) available for dial-up access for the local number in Nashville, MI. Our user to modem ratio is currently less than 10 to 1, which means we have better than 1 modem to every 10 Internet users signed up with our Internet service. The recent upgrade was the result of busy signals received from our users. These additional modems should help relieve the pressure.

dial-up areas. Connect to the Internet directly from your TV!
All of our lines offer a local connection for the new WebTV system.

Maple Valley Computer Center will going to 56k Flex (not x2) around the first of
November 1997 at it's Nashville dial-up.
November 97
Forty Eight 56k Modems have been installed in Nashville. Access is now availible for 56flex, The new phone number for the Nashville Pop is 852-2600.
The old number will remain for about 30 days.
Communitcation Server Added.
Postoffice Mail upgraded to filter spam mail.

Maple Valley Computer Center has installed 24 lines of 56k Flex to both Charlotte and Portland
The Charlotte 56 flex number is 543-8221 and the Porland 56k flex number is 647-5086.
When logging into these lines simply use your username and password. DO NOT PUT @MVCC.COM on your username when logging in.
All your e-mail and other settings stay the same.
To change your phone number in Windows 95, click on "My Computer", "Dial Up Networking", and then RIGHT click on the "MVCC" dialup icon.
Click on Properties. Simply change the phone number and hit "OK" and your done!
