How do I sign up with the Maple Valley Computer Center Internet access service?
To sign up today call Don Steinbrecher at 517-852-1784. You will need to give him
your name, address, telephone number, login, and password. He will give you the
information you need to know to dial-in and start using your account. If you live
close to Nashville you can stop by the store between 12:00pm and 9:00pm Monday through Saturday. The store is located at 105 N. Main St. in downtown Nashville . You account will be setup on the Internet in less than a half on hours as long as you can provide immediate payment or credit card number.
What is the setup fee for your Internet access service?
There is NO setup charge. After the 20th of the month, you get the remainder of the current month free. Customers that call in are asked to provide a credit card number before the account is setup.
Is there a charge for late payments?
There is no charge for late payments. If you don't pay by the first of the month, we will disconnect your account. To reconnect your account, just bring your account up to date.
What service plans do you offer?
There is only one level of Internet access. $20 per month for unlimited web access, email, Telnet, ftp, newsgroups, gopher, IRC. As a discount, you can receive 6 months of service for $110, and 1 year for $210.
What software do you provide?
For Windows 95, Windows 98, and MAC users, the newest versions of Internet Explorer are available free of charge. Windows users who would like to use Netscape can purchase the software for $49.00, and MAC users can purchase Netscape fro $59.00. Shareware versions of Netscape are available also, but they are only legal for one month after installation.
What type of server do you have?
Maple Valley Computer Center is running six Pentium 800mmx servers with over 100 gigabytes of hard drive space. The operating system is Micrpsoft Windows 2000 Server.
Do you provide 24 hour access to the internet?
Local customers will dial into one of our 48 56k baud (v.90) or one of our 10 33.6 modems that run 24 hours a day 7 days a week. There are never more than 56 people
connected to these modems at one time, which means your connection on our end will always be the max the local telephone lines can handel.
Statewide customers should view the dial-up access for a list of dial-up phone numbers across the state, the number of modems at these numbers, and how fast these modems run.
What other services do you provide?
Besides Internet access, Maple Valley Computer Center offers web sites for business, virtual servers, and corporate or small business email and web servers. If you have any questions regarding these services, please

Are multiple Email accounts included?
You may purchase extra email addresses for $5 per month, plus $1 setup.

How long have you been in business?
Maple Valley Computer Center was started 17 years ago by Don Steinbrecher of Nashville,
Michigan. The company moved to it's downtown location four years ago. MVCC has been
providing Internet access to the Hastings, Charlotte, Nashville, and Vermontville area since
March, 1996. Local access for over one-hundred cities across Michigan was started in
July, 1996.
What is your busy signal policy?
There are 48 56k and 10 33.6 baud modems on-line for the Nashville local number. The other cities that we offer access to have a mixed number of 56k and 33.6k baud modems. Your chance getting a busy signal will depend on what city you are calling from and what time of the day it is.
What is the cancellation policy?
If we do not receive your payment before the 1st of the month, we will disconnect your account. If you know you would like to cancel your service please call us near the end of that month. If you forget to pay, and are disconnected, you may mail in or drop off your payment at anytime. You account will be reactivated immediately.
Do I get a free homepage with my subscription?
Yes. All Internet access subscribers may have a directory on our Internet server for
their own web site. This free offer is only good for personal web sites. All
business web sites must pay a fee of $5 per month per megabyte, or $20 for 10 megabytes.
