E-Mail Problems
Is one saying you have 10 messages and you only get
3 of them, and you keep getting the same 3 messages over and over again.
This is caused by a piece of bad mail in you file. There is two ways to correct
this problem.
1. We can delete your entire file and start a new one. When using this method you will lose all of your mail still on our server.
2. You can remove the bad file yourself, if you are using Outlook Express 3 or 4, follow steps below, or if using Outlook Express 5, go to par 4 below. I do not have a procedure for Netscape.
3. In Outlook Express you can delete all or part of your e-mail from the server by clicking on TOOLS and then click on INBOX ASSISTANT and click ADD. On the properties page. This makes a special file, which limits your e-mail size.
1. Click: ACCOUNT - Mail will light up
2. Click: LARGER THAN - Now set the size of e-mail; you wish to delete (1k will delete all of the e-mail). You can try 4 or 5k to remove larger files (if that dose not work reduce the size of the file and check your mail again).
3. Click: DELETE OFF SERVER
4. Click: OK
5. Click: OK
6. Now check your e-mail by clicking on the SEND & REC Icon. You will be deleting large files and receiving smallest ones or if set to 1k it will delete all the e-mail files.
7. Remember to go back to the INBOX ASSISTANT and REMOVE the file you created, so your e-mail will work properly again.
4. In Outlook Express 5 Click on MESSAGE at top of Outlook Express and then click on CREATE RULE FROM MESSAGE (rule file).
1. In group 1, click on WHERE THE MESSAGE SIZE IS MORE THAN SIZE. (only one item)
2. In group 2: click on DELETE IT FROM SERVER. (only one item)
3. In group 3: click of size and set it to 5 or 10kb. Now Click OK and check your email again.
4. To charge the size of the rule file or to remove this rule file, Click on TOOLS at the top of OUTLOOK EXPRESS.
5. Click on MESSAGE RULES and then click on MAIL.
6. Click on the rule file you wish to modify or remove.
7. Remember
you can make serveral rule to modify your e-mail.
If your return address is wrong you will not get your e-mail if someone try to use reply to sender. Other e-mail will be OK.
1. Click on TOOLS at the top of Outlook Express. Then click on ACCOUNTS and then click MAIL, then double click the default mail file.
